Chicago in 2075 is a world where augmented reality is the norm for city dwellers of means, a city awash with refugees from coastal areas all over the world, flooded out from a rising sea in which the great die-off continues. The wealthy have begun to extend their lives using medical breakthroughs like stem-cell therapies and transfusions of blood and organs from younger donors. The organ trade flourishes.
